Drama

The inclusion of drama skits in our corporate worship times is not new to our Church.  However, it has only been recently that we have made a deliberate commitment to use this vehicle more as a support to the worship and teaching ministry of the Church.

To that end, our Drama Co-ordinator, Alison Helmrich, has been working with a growing team of budding actors, both young and not so young, to produce some very entertaining, but challenging dramas.

As with many ministries, there is a strong training and equipping component to this exciting area.  Of course, the ultimate aim is to produce a skit which impacts the audience in some significant way and points them towards God and His kingdom priorities. 

That is certainly our goal and our team achieve that very well.  However, the development and growth which occurs in those who are involved is tremendous.

This is particularly true with our young people, many of whom have been involved in this ministry over recent years.  It is wonderful (and a big surprise at times!) to see our youth come out of their shell and be 'up front' in such a way.  Of course the best part of this and many of our ministries is that we have a lot of fun!
